Application Form due by June 1, 2008.
Please remit with a minimum $200 non-refundable deposit.
Balance due by July 15, 2008.

Audition information: Anaheim Ballet does not hold set auditions. If the student is living locally, a class with either of the directors may be taken as an audition for the program. Please contact us for dates and times of appropriate classes. If you are unable to attend such a class as an audition, please send a VHS video tape or DVD [15 minute maximum] that demonstrates a selection of pointe work, adagio, pirouettes, petit allegro, and grand allegro.


Fees
     Tuition includes classes, lectures, coaching, performance, Disneyland field trip, and supervision.
     Housing includes room and board with an Anaheim Ballet family whose student is also attending the program.
The parent would also provide meals and transportation to and from our location.
A wide range of hotel and motel accommodations are available in the Anaheim area.

Please note: Orientations will include a short placement class and personal interviews.
Summer Dance Celebration's performance will be on the evening of August 15. Please schedule departures accordingly.

 Travel
Anaheim Ballet is easily accessible from the Orange County John Wayne Airport. Please make every effort to arrange arrivals and departures from Orange County. If unable to secure flights to John Wayne Airport, arrival and departure from the Los Angeles Airport will require special arrangements for transportation to and from Anaheim Ballet.
 Housing
A limited amount of housing is available with families from Anaheim Ballet. All efforts are made to arrange visiting students with AB students of similar ages. Please return your applications promptly, as these housing opportunities are limited and will be filled in order of date received. Meals are provided by host families. See Location for additional housing options.
 Location
Anaheim Ballet is located in an internationally favored vacation area that has many lovely accommodations. Lodging at local hotels provides easy access to the Anaheim Ballet studios. Parents wishing to join their children may request information for lodging from the Anaheim Convention and Visitors Bureau: 714 999-8999. Anaheim Ballet is located near Disneyland Park and Resort and Anaheim Ice.
Field Trips
Group activities will include a trip to Disneyland "The Happiest Place on Earth" [included in tuition fee].
 Supervision
Supervision will include attention to ensuring that each participant receives the most from their experience by forming new friendships and gaining positive feelings of accomplishment and productivity.

 Ballet
Ladies:  Black, pink or white leotards, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, pink pointe shoes [if already on pointe], black, pink or white chiffon skirts are optional. Hair must be secured in ballet-style. Free style dressing is allowed during rehearsal periods at the discretion of the instructor. No jewelry may be worn. Gentlemen:  White or black snug fitting T-shirts, Black tights, black or white ballet shoes with coordinating socks. Free style dressing is allowed during rehearsal periods at the discretion of the instructor.
 Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap
Free style choice of leotards, tights, and T-shirts [no logos please], black jazz shoes, sneakers, black tap shoes.
 Character
Same as ballet dress code, black character shoes if you have them. If not, jazz shoes are acceptable.
 Stage make-up
Neutral foundation[base], neutral powder[finish],earth toned dark brown eye shadow, black eye liner, black mascara, earth toned orange powder blush, earth toned burnt orange/brown lipstick, earth toned burnt orange lip liner, white eye shadow, light brown eyebrow pencil[unless very dark brows]. Gray/brown contour powder. Brushes: large powder, medium blush, small eye shadow assortment.
 Street Wear
Daily casual wear to and from Anaheim Ballet, warm jacket [evenings get cool], optional bathing suit.
 Incidentals
Students will find it helpful to bring a personal sized cassette player / recorder and a blank cassette to be used for learning roles and for choreography class, funds for occasional movie outings or similar events, and funds for any personal purchases.
 

attitudes.jpgSummer is a time to focus on your training without distractions from academic pressures and devote all your efforts to improving your dance skills. Anaheim Ballet offers an intensive curriculum offering 2-3 technique classes per day plus additional training in pointe, variations, men's ballet, pas de deux, character classes, world dance forms, current street dance, modern, tap, acting for dancers, nutrition, stage make-up, voice for dancers, career choices, and a special session with a Hollywood dance agent.

Summer is a time to perform and be creative. Students have the opportunity to expand their abilities by being given the opportunity to choreograph and perform their own works as well as selections from the classical and contemporary repertoire. Families, friends, and community are invited to attend the end of session performance outdoors at the lovely 2000 seat
Pearson Park Amphitheater and admire these stars of tomorrow!
